Michael “Mike” McKinney

Michael “Mike” McKinney, 71, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 at his home. He was born March 3, 1950, in Springfield, the son of Albert and Emmadale (Cornthwaite) McKinney. He married Jennifer Hay on October 13, 1973 and she survives.

Also surviving are one son, James (Shelley) Hay of Springfield; two grandchildren, Jon and Haley Hay, both of Springfield; one brother, Steve McKinney of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim and John McKinney.

Mike was a life-long resident of Springfield. He was a graduate of Lanphier High School. Mike retired as head custodian of District 186.

Cremation rites will be accorded by Staab Funeral Home.
