It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael J. Davis, 73, on August 15He passed away peacefully at the Keosauqua Health Care Center, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on September 25, 1950, in Burlington, Iowa, Michael was the beloved son of Clovie and Dorothy Davis. He grew up in Burlington, IA and attended Notre Dame High School. After graduation, Michael attended Des Moines Technical Institute, then went on to work at the REC in Wapello, IA before opening Odessa TV and Appliance. Michael went on to work for Primestar

as a satellite installer before moving on for many years as a customer service representative for Sears in their call center in Des Moines, IA. His final years before retirement were as a semi-driver for Werner Trucking Company.

Michael J. Davis was known for his kindness, sense of humor, and storytelling. He had a passion for spending time with his family, electronics, trains, and helping others, which he pursued with great dedication.

Michael is survived by his wife, Ellen Davis of Donnellson, IA, a son, Andrew Davis (Carrie) and his grandsons, Dade and Beckett all of Swisher, IA, a son, Adam Davis of Bangkok, Thailand, three brothers Jerry Davis of Quincy, IL, Dan Davis of Cedar Rapids and Steve Davis of Hindsville, AR, a stepdaughter, Amanda Roshek, a step-grandson, Austin Roshek of Altadena, CA, a stepson, Andrew Mills and step-granddaughters, Sierra and Abby all of Des Moines, who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Davis, his parents, Clovie and Dorothy Davis, and ex-wife, Linda Davis.

A memorial service will be held on a later date, with burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in West Burlington, IA. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Michael J. Davis are invited to attend a celebration of life at a later date (December).
