Michael A. Cosellin
- September 28, 2021
It was a sunny, beautiful day when my dear, sweet brother, Michael Anthony Cosellin, left us. The only day more beautiful was the day he was born – September 2, 1947. “Mike” died at Mission Hospital in Asheville on Saturday, September 25, 2021. He was 74 years old.
Mike was born in Mountain Home, NC, the son of John Cosellin and Gladys Duncan Elmore. He moved to Michigan with his family at a young age and grew up in the Walled Lake area. He married Judith Molk, and they had two children, Michael, Jr. and Michele. He moved from Michigan to Ohio before returning to North Carolina and making Hendersonville his permanent home.
Mike loved socializing and was a natural storyteller, sharing many of his childhood memories with family and friends. In his younger years, he was an avid biker and his love of motorcycles continued long after he gave up riding due to physical limitations. He was a joy to everyone he met, especially to his closest family members and many friends.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Michele Daughtry (Andy) of NC; sister, Linda Giroux of MI; nieces, Melissa Dargis (David) of MI and Chrissy McCormack (Rocky) of NC; nephews, Michael Dargis, Jr. of MI, Jason Dargis of MI, and Markie Elmore (Sabrina) of NC; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith; parents, John and Gladys; son, Michael, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Dan Giroux.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 1 – 3PM with a service immediately following at the Shuler Funeral Home Chapel, 125 Orr’s Camp Road, Hendersonville, NC 28792. Chaplain Gerry Smith will officiate. Burial will be arranged at a later date.
