Merrill G. Stanley, age 79, of Mundelein. Beloved husband of the late Michele Stanley. Committed companion for the last 8 years to Grazyna Parsons. Loving father of Camille (Ron) Smith and Tracey (the late Jim) Wiles. Dear step-father of Michael (Amy) and Christopher (Jonna) Naatz. Loving grandfather of Nicole (Ben) Silverman, Kristine (Matt) White, Franklin and Lauren Forward, Sara and Zachary Naatz, and Jacob, Lucas and Samuel Naatz. Beloved great-grandfather of Dionte, Benjamin, and Shanelle Silverman. Former spouse of Marilyn Keeton. Loving brother of Jim (Jill) Stanley, Donna (Mike) McMurry, Larry (Marlene) Stanley, and Diane (Rick) Guest. Uncle, cousin, and friend of many. Merrill was a warm, gregarious man who loved to spend time with family and friends. He was good natured, always happy to lend a hand, and quick with a story or a funny anecdote. He loved to travel, was an enthusiastic volunteer in his community, and easily befriended anyone he met. Merrill will be dearly missed. Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, December 16th, 3PM to 8PM, Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E Northwest Highway, Palatine. Celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 17, 10AM to 11AM, Gracepointe Church, 1221 W Maple Ave (Rte 176), Mundelein, IL 60060. Private interment will be held at All Saints Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Merrill’s name can be made to the National Foundation for Cancer Research.
