Merrill E. Sivill, 89, of Central City, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024. A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at King of Kings Lutheran Church, located at 3275 N. Center Point Road, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the church. Private family interment will be at Davenport Memorial Park.

Merrill was born on November 11, 1934, in Warren County, Iowa, the son of Morris and Opal (Lepley) Sivill. On June 23, 1962, Merrill married Maxine Stuhr at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from Chariton High School and went on to serve in the United States Air Force. Upon returning home he earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa. He worked at Collins Radio Co., retiring after 30 years of service. He was a proud father of two and enjoyed attending their athletic events. Merrill was a dedicated hunting and fishing enthusiast, enjoyed hunting in Lucas County and fishing on the Mississippi and at Lake Rathbun. He was proud to be one of the original 13 members of the Cedar Rapids Bassmasters. Merrill was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Merrill is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Maxine Sivill; two children, Marcie (Mark) Brown and Mark (Colleen) Sivill; two grandchildren, Joshua Brown and Jessica Brown; and brother, Larry Sivill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Walter Sivill, and sister, Janice Agan.
