Melissa M. “Missy” Clark

Melissa M. “Missy” Clark 53, of Springfield, died at 6:45 am, Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born January 13, 1969 in Springfield, to Harold and Sandra Jo Lindley Spain. She met her high school sweetheart forty years ago, Gary Clark and he survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Chad (Linnea) Clark and Robby Clark both of Springfield; four grandchildren, Elena and William Clark, Gabby Clark and Jaelynn Good; father Harold Spain of Springfield; one sister, Dana Spain of Springfield; several aunts and uncles; one niece, Abby Spurgeon; two nephews, Aden Spurgeon and Brandon (Meghan) Winkler; one great niece, Josie Hart; one great nephew, Lucas Winkler and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Jo Power.

Melissa was Acting Supervisor for the Illinois Department of Public Health.

She was very devoted to her family and loved going to Daytona.

Visitation: 10 am – 12 pm, Monday, January 16, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 12 pm, Monday, January 16, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Beardstown City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
