Mary Virginia Neighley

Mary Virginia Neighley, 98, of New Philadelphia, passed away in Hennis Care Center at Dover on December 28, 2022, following a period of declining health.
Born in Wadsworth, Ohio on October 31, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Anna (Strickling) Meechan.
After graduating from high school, Virginia spent her lifetime caring for her husband, the late Robert Neighley, her children, and the home. She enjoyed baking pies and going to buffets to eat. Her faith was nurtured at St. James Lutheran Church in Tuscarawas.
Virginia’s family includes her children, Bonnie Frohnapfel and Brenda (Greg) Wages, both of New Philadelphia; her son-in-law, Terry Sutton of New Philadelphia; step-daughters, JoAnn Dusenberry of Dover and Carol (Harry) Negri of New Philadelphia; 5 grandchildren, Scott and Jeff Wages, Bob (Rebecca) Frohnapel, Jason (Beth) Stevens, and Jennifer (Delbie) Woods; 5 step-grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in passing by her daughter, Lori Sutton; her sister, Catherine Manghese; her brothers, John “Ted” (Betty) Meechan and Hugh (Velma) Meechan; and her son-in-law, William Frohnapfel.
Private burial will take place in St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery in Tuscarawas.
