Mary N. Pittenger
- March 11, 2022
Mary N. Pittenger, 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
Mary was born on February 12, 1950 in Pikeville, Kentucky, and was the daughter of James and Eulah (Spears) Belcher. Mary retired from General Motors. She was a devout Christian who deeply believed in God. She believed strongly that there was always a reason for what you were going through as God doesn’t make mistakes, and she lived her life this way. Caring and compassionate, Mary was always willing to lend a helping hand. She loved visiting the beach, country music, reading, and walking.
Mary leaves behind to cherish many fond memories her sons, Robert (Stephanie) Boggs, David Boggs, and Richard (Jamie) Pittenger Jr.; her grandchildren, twins: Jackie and Jocie, and Alley and Seth; her siblings, Jay (Marty) Belcher, Joan (Jim) Davis, Georgia Dowell, and Jim (Bobbi) Belcher; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard “Dick” Pittenger; an infant son, Charlie Boggs Jr.; and her sister, Carol Belcher.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. As Mary was all about helping others, in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to a food bank of the donor’s choice. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
