- November 10, 2021
Mary M. Swigart, 95, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at The Waterford.
She was born December 13, 1925, in Cambridge, Ohio, to the late Helen Ordania (Crawford) and Fred Wyatt Brown. Mary was very generous and did not know a stranger. She was very well liked and a good conversationalist. She will forever be remembered for her service and kind heart, putting her family and her beloved German Shepherds before everything. On November 16, 1947, she married the love of her life, James Swigart. Mary lived to take care of her family and she cherished her only granddaughter.
Mary enjoyed crafts, cooking, ceramics, knitting and crocheting. She was a wonderful baker and her Christmas candies and cookies were loved by all. Fishing and gardening were favorite activities as well as traveling to Canada to her summer home. Mary was a member of T.O.P.S. and was formerly employed as a seamstress at Yunkers Sporting Goods Store.
She is survived by two sons, Jim (Deb Brandstrup) Swigart and Tim (Cindy) Swigart; one granddaughter, Laura Ann (Jim) Germann; two grandsons, Brandon (Kristie) Walp and Jerrod Walp; six great-grandchildren, Westin, Kendra, Hadley, Karlie, Hayley and Barron; and several special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Addison Swigart on November 26, 2012.
Arrangements will be announced soon.
