Mary L. Hurley

Mary L. Hurley 91, of Springfield, died at 8:22 pm, Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at her home. She was born January 8, 1931, in Jacksonville to Merle and Velma (Krouse) Summers. She married Glen L. Hurley, Sr. on November 18, 1948 and he preceded her in death on February 7, 2010.

Also preceding her in death are her parents; one daughter, Rhonda Krakosky; one son, Gary Hurley; two sisters, Marjorie Lyons and Irene Campbell; one brother, Wayne Summers.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice Hurley of Carlinville and Betty Caswell of Springfield; five sons, Jerry (Joni) Hurley of Springfield, Glen Hurley, Jr. of Springfield, Bob (Pam) Hurley of Springfield, Terry (Jackie) Hurley of Ft. Myers, FL and Rick (Cindy) Hurley of Springfield; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Kendra Hurley of Rochester; one son-in-law, Frank Krakosky of Riverton; one sister, Inez (Charles) VanHoos of Auburn and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary has been a resident of Springfield for seventy years. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing BINGO and spending time with her family.

Visitation: 12 pm – 1 pm, Monday, February 21, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 1 pm Monday, February 21, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. Burial will follow at West Cemetery in Thayer, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

CDC protocol shall be followed.
