Mary Jo Pace
- May 31, 2021
Mary Jo Pace, 80, of Landrum, SC passed away on Friday, May 29, 2021 at her home, after an extended illness. She was born in Henderson County to the late Newman and Lenora Morgan. In addition to her parents, Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Harold D. Pace.
Mary Jo retired from General Electric. She previously resided in Zirconia, NC and was a member of Tuxedo Baptist Church. Mary Jo was a talented artist, seamstress and cook. She was a quiet, gentle person who best showed her love through the work of her hands. She was a loving, devoted Mama to her children and beloved Nanny to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Teresa “Terri” Hall (Sunny) of Campobello, SC and Steven Pace (Lynn) of Campobello, SC; grandchildren, Jeremy Pace (Rebekah), Heather Robinson (Michael), Ashley Langley (Jerel) and Meghan Krenek (David); great-grandchildren, Hadley Robinson, Miles Robinson, Henry Pace, Ezra Pace, Jaxon Langley, Aubrey Langley and Ella Krenek; sisters, Martha Bradley, Doris Henderson and Betsy Jackson; and brothers, Harold Morgan (Margot) and Darrell Morgan. She was often like a second mother to her younger sisters and brothers when they were younger and she deeply loved her family. Her sister, Doris, was a special blessing to her, especially during her final days. Doris’ loving devotion to Mary Jo was evident in all she did and was greatly appreciated, not only by Mary Jo, but the entire family.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 2pm at Tuxedo First Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Mikel Bennett officiating.
