Mary Jo Mundel, Age 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at the Helen Nassif Transitional Care Center, in Cedar Rapids, after an extended illness on Saturday, December 28, 2024, surrounded by her family.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2024, at 11 AM at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Tranquility with the Certified Celebrant, Dr. James Coyle officiating.

Mary Jo was born on January 17, 1936, in Tama County, IA. She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Helen (Matney) Lacina. On February 25, 1955, she married the love of her life, Clem Mundel at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. She worked as a Closing Agent for Skogman Realty for many years. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, a loving mother and a best friend to her daughter.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lisa (Jeff Anderson) Blake of Iowa City, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clem, her parents, and her brothers and sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Helen Nassif Transitional Care Center.
