Mary Jane Connelly Jones

Mary Jane Connelly Jones, 93, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

Mary Jane was born in Springfield, March 30, 1928. She was the daughter of Charles Edward and Ada Flora Meeker Connelly. She married Kenneth Marshall Jones on August 11, 1951, at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and was the mother of five children.

Mary Jane was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She was employed by the Catholic Diocese of Springfield in Illinois and the Illinois Department of Public Health.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth and a son, Patrick.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Debra) Jones, Susan (John) Gallagher, Katherine Jones and Timothy Jones; grandchildren, Sarah Jones, Rebecca Jones, Rachel (John) Jones Steward, Brighid (Adam) Gallagher Stevens, Eamon Gallagher and great grand children Isla Mae Steward, Elliot B. Stevens, Aurora Grace Gallagher and Amelia Jane Stevens.

Visitation: 12 – 1 pm, Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 1 pm, Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Reverend Fredrick Mbiere officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.

CDC Protocol shall be followed.
