Mary Ann Wombwell

Mary Ann Wombwell, 93, of Springfield, died at 1:37 am, Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at her home. She was born, August 24, 1928 in St. Paul, MN, the daughter, of Josef and Teresa Florian. Mary Ann married Charles Wombwell in 1950 in St. Paul, MN, they later divorced, and he preceded her in death in 2015.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Stephen and three siblings.

She is survived by sons, Frank (Mary Kay), John (Shirley) and Carl (Sheri) and daughter, Cathy (Pat) Rolens; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Mary Ann was a long-time homemaker ensuring the health of her family of seven by cooking, baking and especially hot Sunday meals. She would ring an outside dinner bell calling her children in for supper.

She was a lifelong Roman Catholic and taught her children by example, the importance of prayer and the power of faith.

She was also employed by J.C. Penneys and worked as a secretary for the Farm Bureau and the Hobbs Division of Stewart Warner.

She enjoyed flower gardening and dancing to live big bands with friends and belonged to the P.O.L.K. of A. dance club serving as treasurer, too. She loved to read, go on walks and work word
puzzles.

Visitation: 9:30 – 10:40 am, Friday, April 1, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Church. The Rosary will be said at 10:40 am Friday.

Funeral Mass: 11:00 am, Friday, April 1, 2022, at Blessed Sacrament Church, with Revered Jeff Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
