Mary Ann Scholta, age 81 of Yorkville, IL passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Accent Care Hospice in Naperville, IL. She was born in Galveston, TX on August 11, 1941 the daughter of Arthur and Mildred (Hilliard) Laney.
Mary Ann was united in marriage on August 18, 1961 to Mr. Russell Scholta and spent the next 61 years happily together. Mrs. Scholta taught elementary school for 32 years until her retirement. Mary Ann loved gardening, painting, and being with her family. There was no greater joy in her life than her three grandchildren. She was a member of New Life Church inYorkville, IL. Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Russell Scholta of Yorkville, IL; her daughters, Deb (Scott) Priebe of Yorkville, IL and Amy (Matthew) Ruedas of El Segundo, CA; her grandchildren, Cameron Priebe of Yorkville, IL, Sarah (Jesse) Harris of Chicago, IL and Elizabeth Ruedas of El Segundo, CA; her sisters, Sue (Bob) Danvers of Blanco, TX and Gay McGuire of San Antonio, TX; also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mildred Laney; her brother-in-law, Bill McGuire; and her nephew, Gregory Gardner.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at New Life Church, 3205 Cannonball Trail, Yorkville, IL. Interment will be private.
Friends may visit from 11:00 AM until the Hour of Service on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Church in Yorkville, IL.
