Marvin Keith Adair, 94, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, at The Gardens in Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends and family from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at Faith Bible Church, located at 1800 46th St. NE, Cedar Rapids. Pastor Brian Hill will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Jordan’s Grove Cemetery in Central City, Iowa.
Marvin was born on April 25, 1928, the son of Allen Loyal and Grace (Quinn) Adair in Shellsburg, Iowa. He served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1946 to 1947. On May 16, 1948, Marvin was united in marriage to Gladys “Imogene” Brumwell. To this union, three daughters were born. For 36 years, Marvin was employed with Collins Radio, retiring in 1986. Marvin was a member of Faith Bible Church. He loved living on the farm and enjoyed fishing in Canada and woodworking. Most of all, Marvin loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Marvin is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 74 years, Imogene Adair of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Donna (Doug) Deardorff of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Denise (Robert) Skeen of Jonesborough, Tenn., and Debra (John) Kuhn of Walford, Iowa; five grandchildren, Amy (Clark) Bishop, Aaron (Anna) Deardorff, Jeff (Michelle) Skeen, Luke (Katie) Skeen and Kimberli Helmrichs; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Eunice Baxa of Las Cruces, N.M.; brother, Wayne Adair of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Bertha and Elsie.
