Jefferson City, Missouri…Marva Joyce Dyer, age 85, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 12, 2024. She was born August 10, 1938, in Thompson, Missouri, the daughter of Lee Otis and Ester Lucile (Belcher) White.
Marva married the love of her life, Keith Dyer on June 28, 1964, in Centralia, Missouri, and to this union two sons were born.
Marva graduated from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg with a degree in Physical Education and then later earned her Masters in Elementary Education Administration from NWMSU in Maryville. While living in the Dekalb County area, she taught many different classes in elementary, junior high, and high school, and was an elementary principal throughout her 20 plus years as an educator in the Maysville, Clarksdale, Winston, and Osborn communities.
She was a longtime active member of Oak Christian Church during her time there. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, “Keith” Dyer.
She is survived by her sons, Mike Dyer (April), Jefferson City, and their children Luke, Adam, and Megan; son, Matt Dyer (Heather), Mount Zion, IL. and their children, Nicholas and Joshua; two brothers, Gary White (Pete) and Mike White; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00 ~ 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2024, at Oak Christian Church with burial immediately following at Oak Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oak Christian Church.
