Martha Ann Melton Canup

Martha Ann Melton Canup, 89, of Flat Rock went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Hendersonville Health and Rehab, following a period of declining health.  Born in Brevard, Martha was the youngest child of Lyda and Addie Owens Melton.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Canup, Sr. who passed in 2010; two brothers and two sisters; a son, Mike Bradley; and a grandson, James Michael Bradley, Jr.

Martha resided in South Carolina for many years, and had lived in Henderson County for the past 25 years.  She spent her career in healthcare as a CNA, and was a member of Mud Creek Baptist Church.  Martha loved to take care of people, so her career was very rewarding to her.  She enjoyed singing and clogging in her younger years.

She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Williams (Frank); sons, Richard Franklin Canup (Stacy) and Tommy Canup (Melissa); grandchildren, JT Hollingsworth, Tammy Passmore, Dustin Canup, Randy Hurley, Dennis Canup and Tina Hodges; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 11am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
