Marjorie M. Cravens

Marjorie M. Cravens, 92, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Home. She was born in Auburn, IL, the daughter of Earl and Nellie Williamson Sharp. She married J. Dwight Cravens on December 30, 1954, at Pawnee Methodist Church. He preceded her in death September 16, 2016.
Also preceding her in death was a sister, Elizabeth Wefenstette.
Marjorie graduated from Pawnee High School and Illinois Wesleyan College of Music. She served as the choir director and organist at Williamsville United Methodist Church and Pawnee United Methodist Church for a total of 35 years. She was active in the Springfield Municipal Choir and Evening Etude Music Club. Marjorie was a homemaker, musician and a partner with her husband in farming. She was devoted to her husband and family. One of Marjorie’s greatest joys was traveling extensively to many foreign countries and wintering in Daytona Beach, FL, with her husband, Dwight.
A private graveside service was held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
