Marjorie G. Owens, 96, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Villa
East in Sherman. She was born on March 23, 1926, in Virden, to Harvey and Pluma (Monts) Lomelino. She married Orville John “Rip” Owens on April 4, 1945 and he preceded her in death on May 12, 1997.
She is survived by three children: Kathy Kessler of Springfield, Greg Owens of Decatur and Vicki (Dan) Andrew of Lake Wales, FL; daughter-in-law, Kathy Owens of Ocala, FL; five grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Mourousias, Travis (Jillian) Andrew, Tom (Serenity) Stanfield, Joe (Vanessa) Stanfield, and Tye (Lucianna) Stanfield; sixteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Howard Lomelino of Girard, Harvey (Barb) Lomelino of Riverton and Herb (Kay) Lomelino of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia D. Georges; son, Doug Owens and seven siblings.
She was a technician at St. John’s Hospital for many years and a member of the Church of the Little Flower. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Mass: 9:30 am, Friday, May 6, 2022 at Church of the Little Flower with Reverend Allen Kemme officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, American Heart Association, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or ALS Foundation.
