Marjorie Fern Wall, 97, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Northbrook Manor. Services: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church by the Rev. Dennis Miller. Burial: Squires Oliphant Cemetery, Toddville. A vigil service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Teahen Funeral Home. Those not attending the vigil service may visit with the family on Monday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. or on Tuesday after 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Joseph (Jillian) Wall of Delmar; daughters, Charlene Horner of Cedar Rapids, Joan (William) Ironside of Bloomfield, Jennifer Deschaine of Prior Lake, Minn., Carol (Curtis) Benesh of Poolesville, Md,, and Laura (Robert) Antonecchia of Yonkers, N.Y.; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren with one on the way; one great-great-grandchild with two on the way; sister in-law, Elizabeth Oliphant of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Thomas “Tom”; brothers, Darius Oliphant, Paul Oliphant and Wallace Oliphant; sisters, Genevieve DuFoe and Betty Neighbor; and son in-law, Robert M. Horner.

Marjorie was born Sept. 14, 1925, in Marion, the daughter of Alfred “Joe” and Lottie Hagerman Oliphant. She graduated from Toddville High School in 1943. On Sept. 1, 1944, Marjorie married Frank Thomas “Tom” Wall in Olympia, Wash. Marjorie worked at Square D before spending 21 years as a personnel manager for K-Mart, retiring in 1988. After retirement, she worked in the office at Lindale Mall.

Marjorie enjoyed baking cookies and made sure the cookie jar was always full. She also loved to spend time with her family and travel to see them.

A memorial fund has been established in Marjorie’s name to be used for favorite charities.
