Marion Florence Riley

Marion Florence Riley, age 98, passed away peacefully January 2, 2021. She was born July 3, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois to Florence and Fred Phillips. After attending Immaculata High School, Marion graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital’s nursing program as a registered nurse. She served in WWII as an officer in the United States Army Nurse Corps from 1942 until 1944. During the war she trained nurses that worked in combat aid stations. Marion is survived by her daughter Dr. Rosemary Riley, son Michael Riley and wife Lili, son-in-law Kenneth Witry, grandchildren: Dane Riley and John Witry. She was preceded in death by her daughter Dr. Susan Witry, mother Florence Phillips, father Fred Phillips, sisters: June Lloyd and husband Alex, Shirley Van Ornum and husband Wesley, Florence Phillips, and Dolores Fuss and husband Ted, and brother, John Phillips and wife Jessica. A private service will take place at Arlington National Cemetery. Funeral Information 773-736-3833
