Marilyn V. Thornburgh, 83, of Kenosha, WI formerly of Springfield, IL died on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Hospice Alliance Hospice House in Kenosha, WI. She was born March 10, 1938 in Jerseyville, IL to Glen and Emma (Richey) Thomas. She married Paul E. Thornburgh June 9, 1957 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Springfield, IL.
She is survived by her husband, Paul E. Thornburgh of Kenosha, WI; one daughter, Margaret “Lynn” (Rev. Andrew) Barkley of Trevor, WI; two sons, Robert Thornburgh of Scottsdale, AZ and Phillip (Tonia) Thornburgh of St. Charles, MO; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Ann, her brother Richard Thomas and her parents.
Marilyn was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Springfield, IL and current member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Kenosha, WI. She worked as a secretary in the guidance office at Springfield High School and as a crossing guard at Ridgely School. She was a volunteer at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
Visitation: 9:30 am until time of services at 10 am, Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Springfield, IL with Reverend James Stuenkel and Reverend Adam Barkley officiating. Graveside services will be officiated by Reverend Andrew Barkley at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
CDC protocol shall be followed.
