Margaret Mays Shields

Margaret Mays Shields, age 94, most recently of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. She was born in Buena Vista, Virginia, but loved her adopted city of Williamsburg and lived there for over 65 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Shields, Jr. in 1998.

Margaret was employed as a bookkeeper for Williamsburg Merchants for many years and loved working in Colonial Williamsburg. She was a former member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church.

Margaret always showed great love and support for her family, and she is survived by her daughters, Karen Burns (Kevin) of Charlottesville, VA and Kathy Shields of Vancouver, WA. She is also survived by her grandson, Steven Urgo, of Los Angeles, CA and granddaughter Beth Holland, of Anacortes WA.
