Marcie C. Sellers of Ontario passed away late Sunday evening, November 7, 2021, at Elmcroft of Ontario at the age of 88.
She was born May 28, 1933, in Walhonding, Ohio, to the late Martha (Shannon) and Howard Kanuckel. Marcie graduated from Warsaw High School in 1952. On January 3, 1957, she married Willard Sellers of Loudonville and they shared 51 years together. Marcie was employed at Cresco in Ashland for 9 years then at Ontario Local Schools for 18 years as a cook. She was an avid bowler for 25 years and won many trophies. Traveling, fishing, playing cards and visiting the casinos topped her list of favorite activities.
Marcie is survived by a son-in-law, Dave Scholler of Ashland; one sister-in-law, Marlene Kanuckel of Warsaw; several nephews; one niece; several great-nephews; and many great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard John Sellers on May 12, 2008; a daughter, Lisa Scholler; a son-in-law; and her brother, Franklin Kanuckel.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest in Sandridge Cemetery, Loudonville, Ohio, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
