Marcerlein R. Gardner
- February 27, 2024
Marcerlein Rose Gardner departed this realm and crossed over into paradise on February 21, 2024 in Akron, Ohio. She would probably recoil at the use of her full name; Marcy, as she preferred to be called, passed away peacefully in her home and in the care of a loving friend. Marcy was born on October 28, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan. She is preceded in death by her sister, Monica Gardner, and mother Mamie Gardner. Marcy is survived by her father, Morris Gardner, and son Mark Gardner.
Marcy Gardner was a creative, humorous, and critically thinking person. From musical theatre and volleyball in high school, to being a local radio DJ in the early 1990s, to her years of service in the audio/visual ministry at The House of The Lord; Marcy believed in using her gifts and talents for good and for the kingdom of God. She also used her amazing gifts and talents to help run the Gardner family business, Kandy Kane Christian Daycare Center for over 30 years. Marcy was invaluable in making Kandy Kane such a very special place for so many people, including her only son.
If you spent any time around Marcy, it would not be long before she was making you smile. Marcy loved to laugh and loved to make other people laugh. Her sense of humor was infectious, and sometimes even mischievous, but always with the intention to raise the spirits of others even when she, herself, may not have always been in good spirits. Marcy was an independent thinker. She didn’t just march to the beat of her own drum, sometimes she was a one woman parade!
Marcy was a generous person who gave so much of her time, talents, and resources to her family and church community. A loving daughter, an outstanding mother, and a deeply devoted friend. We pray that her soul rests in eternal love and peace.
