Madeline Frances Watertor, 79, of Cedar Rapids passed away peacefully at home on December 22, 2023. A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories on Friday, January 5, 2024, with burial following the service.

Madeline was born on August 8, 1944, to Eugene and Adriana (Bellonio) Santella in New Haven, Connecticut. She originally went to school to be a teacher and even worked for a few years as a music teacher. Madeline later followed her mother and her sister to Iowa. She married John Watertor on October 9, 1976, and together they had a daughter. Madeline gave over 30 years of service to CRST. She was a member of the Cedar Rapids Corvette Club for 25 years and for 10 of those years she was the secretary.

She loved to knit and made many baby blankets, afghans, booties, and hats for her grandsons. Madeline was an avid reader, there were very few books that she didn’t read. Her grandsons were her pride and joy as she took care of each of them for the first years of their life. They will always be grandma’s boys. She also loved dogs, from her dogs Roscoe and Max to her grand dogs Ian and Sally.

Madeline is survived by her loving husband, John Watertor; daughter, Adrienne (Lucas) Meyer; grandsons, Calvin, and Quentin Meyer; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, and her beloved dogs.
