MaCruz Gomez Alvarez, age 71 of Yorkville, IL passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 25, 2021 in Wilmington, NC. She was born on May 3, 1950 in Mexico, the daughter of Sergio and Maria (Alverez) Gomez.

MaCruz was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her ten children, Sergio, Salomon, Patricia, Lilia, Miguel, Neli, Elizabeth, Jose Luis, Jose Guadalupe, and Rafael; also many grandchildren; her brother Angel Gomez in Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sergio and Maria Gomez; her husband; her sister and two brothers.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 31, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1001 North Center Avenue, Plano, IL.

Friends may visit from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.
