Lynn Hurst Kellam

Lynn Hurst Kellam of Williamsburg, VA died on January 10, 2021, from a short battle with colon cancer. Lynn was born on June 21, 1946, in Florence, SC, the daughter of Daniel Frederick and Jacqueline McCoy Hurst. She is a graduate of Winthrop University and Old Dominion University. She retired as a teacher from York County Public Schools.
Lynn is survived by her husband of 52 years, William Garland Kellam, her daughters and their families: Ellynn and Tor Adoue and Karen and John D. Wright; grandchildren Justin (Stephanie) Adoue, Asia (Justin) Garrett, Dakota (Spencer) Westbrook, Isabelle Adoue, William Adoue, Margaret Wright, Katharine Wright; great-grandchildren Maia Edaburn, Tristan and Juliet Adoue. Lynn is also survived by her beloved sister Shelley (John) Monti and her dear sister-in-law Mary Jo Kellam, brother-in-law Douglas Page (Claire) Kellam. Others include Kathleen Monti (Matt Miziorko), Joshua (Tiffany) Kellam, Mary Page (Ivy) Austin, Shannon (Brian) Neas, Douglas Kellam, Matthew Kellam, and their families. Also, she is survived by her dear friend, Martha Bradshaw.
Her cousins in SC include Renee Burch Baxley, James and Glenda Burch, Norman Burch, Ginger Owens, Cindy McClendon, and Guyeth Nash.
Lynn was enrolled on the cradle roll at Lake City SC Presbyterian and was an active member of Yorkminster Presbyterian Church in Yorktown, VA. She served as an Elder, Evangelism team leader, circle leader, and treasurer of the Presbyterian Women for many years.
Lynn is a member of the Williamsburg chapter of the DAR, the Daughters of American Colonists VADAC, and the Capt. Elisha Bethea Chapter, 1812. She loved her friends, book club, playing bridge, and Mahjong.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on January 22nd at Nimmo United Methodist Church Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place later this summer.
