Lloyd Marvin Hughes, 86, of Lisbon, entered eternity Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, while under the care of Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Condolences may be sent to 116 Third Ave. E., Lisbon, IA 52253; or online at www.fryfuneralhome.com.

Lloyd, son of Walter Lewis and Irene Stoneking Hughes was born May 19, 1936, in Marion, Iowa. Graduated from Mount Vernon in 1955. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Lloyd was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Griffin. He worked maintenance for Iowa DOT for 30 years. He loved mowing and plowing snow. Lloyd and Ruth are members of St. Mary’s in Mechanicsville.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Ann Hughes of Lisbon; children, Paul (Abbi Swanson), Arizona, Carolyn (Joe) Owens, Mechanicsville, Patti and (Bill) Stewart. Lisbon; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Winfield and Richard.
