Lauren Ashley Hoffman

Lauren Ashley Hoffman, 24, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born September 4, 1998, in Springfield, the daughter of John Richard and Melissa Jean (Cox) Hoffman and they survive.
Also surviving are her sister, Emily Sue Hoffman Simmons (husband, Derek); grandmothers, Grandma Dixie Sue Hoffman of Quincy and Nana Sue Cox of Pittsfield; aunts and uncles, Cathy Dreasler, Ginger Russell, Phil (Julie) Hoffman, Steve Cox, and Debbie (Curt) Renoud; and several cousins.
She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Papa Bill Hoffman and Papa Carroll Cox.
Lauren was a resident of Springfield all her life and was a graduate of Glenwood High School. She was an active member of Cherry Hills Church where she volunteered in the nursery and was part of the Young Adults Group. She also volunteered at the Central IL Food Bank. She participated in the Special Olympics Track and Field with the Chatham Chargers. Lauren enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Saturday Strikers League through the YMCA. Lauren absolutely cherished being an aunt to the pups, Luca and Willow, and enjoyed dog walking in her Lincolnshire neighborhood. Her obsession with anything related to pigs was endearing to all that knew her.
Visitation: 4 – 7 pm, Friday, January 6, 2023 at Cherry Hills Church.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Cherry Hills Church with Pastor Jeff Nelsen officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics – Illinois or Cherry Hills Church.
