Larry Gene Wilson

Larry Gene Wilson, age 71, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, May 8,2022 at his home. 

Larry was a graduate of West Henderson High School and Western Carolina University. He was a lifelong barber. He was a charter member of Hubert M. Smith Post 77 Sons of the American Legion, as well as Past Detachment Commander of the Sons of the American Legion, Department of North Carolina. Larry also served on the golf committee at the Legion for over 30 years.

He is predeceased by his father, Bobby Wilson, and his nephew, Clark McDaniel.

Larry is survived by his mother, Helen Coates Wilson; sisters, Gail Pilgrim (Danny) and Diane Wilson; niece, Dacia Corn; nephew, Michael McDaniel; great nephews, Kawme Morris, Xavier Avery, and Mason McDaniel; great nieces, Kahteya Morris, Tamia Smith, and Clarklyn McDaniel. He is also survived by Lydia Bass, his girlfriend of 17 years.

A celebration of life will be held downstairs at The American Legion Post 77, 216 4th Avenue West, Hendersonville, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2022.
