Lainie Marie Mogensen, 30, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, unfortunately passed away on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, after complications from a car accident on Saturday night.

Lainie was born Jan. 3, 1992, to Randy and Kim Mogensen in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After Lainie graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 2010, she went on to earn her A.A.S. in business administration: management from Kirkwood Community College. She was a current student at Western Illinois University working towards her bachelor’s in human resources. Lainie was currently on the acquisition team for Nordstrom. Over the last six years, she has held several positions throughout the customer care team, she was striving to branch into the human resource team which aligned with her future career paths.

Lainie met her fiance Eric in October 2015, they were to be married on Oct. 13, 2023. Together they had three cats, Potions, Luna and Moonlight. The most important thing to Lainie was family and friends. She had an infectious personality that radiated from her core that influenced those around her. Fall was her favorite season and she loved to celebrate the holidays with her favorite people. Out of all her accomplishments, being “The Aunt” to all

her nephews and nieces was her favorite.

Lainie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Del Keasling, Clarence “Mogie” and Margaret “Peggy” Mogensen, David Vieth; and her uncle, Rick Holt.

She is survived by her fiance, Eric Henderson; parents, Randy and Kim Mogensen; sisters, Chloe Mogensen and Morgan Robertshaw; brother-in-law, Greg Robertshaw; nephew, Marz Robertshaw; grandmothers, Connie Vieth and Patricia Keasling; and aunts and uncles, Brenda and Randy Coker, Mindy and Pat Lesmeister, Cindy and Mike Brady and Sue Holt.

Please join the family in paying respects, services will be held at Cedar Memorial on Monday, Oct. 24. Visitation will be at 3 p.m. and the funeral will be at 6 p.m. There will be a Celebration of Life held at Lowe Park in Marion on Oct, 30, details to follow.
