LaDonna Tweedy

LaDonna Tweedy, age 93 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. She was born on September 13, 1929 the daughter of Lester Mitchell and Hortense Haper in Du Quoin, IL.
She spent her childhood with her mother and stepfather, Ferd Beckman in Murphysboro, IL. LaDonna attended and graduated from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 1951. LaDonna was united in marriage on June 9, 1951 to Mr. James Dale Tweedy and they spent the next 58 years happily together until his passing on February 20, 2009. She became an extension agent for the University of Illinois for Kendall County from 1951 until 1957. Mrs. Tweedy taught elementary school in Plano, IL from 1964 through 1990 until her retirement. She was a member of Yorkville Congregational Church in Yorkville, IL. She enjoyed several hobbies including gardening, reading, traveling, and visiting with her many friends. LaDonna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
LaDonna is survived by her daughters, Janet (Randy) Stevenson of Newark, IL and Jean (Bob) Aucutt of Mundelein, IL; her grandchildren, Rebecca (Brooks ) Whittington, Kim (Dan) Doverspike, Kristin (Navjot) Singh, Ben (Ozzy Noriega) Aucutt; her great-grandchildren, Owen, Ellie, Isla, Kallie, and Brooklyn; as well as her brother, Norman Beckman.
She was preceded in death by her father, her mother and stepfather; her husband, James Tweedy; and her grandparents.
It was LaDonna’s wish that all services be private.
