Kevin Wayne Jones

Kevin Wayne Jones, age 56 of St. Augustine, FL formerly of Hinckley, IL passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in Florida. He was born on April 7, 1965 in Winfield, IL the son of Kenneth Wayne and Leila Lou (Benson) Jones.

Kevin attended and graduated from the Hinckley Big Rock Schools, where he played basketball, little league baseball and was a Boy Scout earning his Eagle Scout at the age of 17. After graduation he worked at Equipto Manufacturing in Aurora, IL for nearly 10 years.

Kevin was united in marriage on September 23, 1989 to Angela “Angie” Anderson and they spent the next 24 years happily together until her passing in January of 2014. They moved from Big Rock, IL to Florida to work for her parents in their family business. He enjoyed woodworking, his patio garden, golf and especially coaching his two daughters softball teams when they were younger. Kevin was always accompanied by his best four legged pal, Rocky.

Kevin is survived by his parents, Ken and Leila Jones of Hinckley, IL; his daughters, Merranda Jones of St. Augustine, FL and Madeline Jones of Jacksonville, FL; his brother, Kent Jones (Dana) of Plano, IL; his in-laws, Ed and Dorothy Fry of FL; also his brother-in-law, Scott Anderson and family of FL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Angie Jones; also both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A Memorial Funeral Service will be held at a later date in Florida.

Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 North Maple Street in Hinckley, IL.
