Kevin Dean Garner
- September 14, 2022
Kevin Dean Garner, aged 51, of Chatham, Illinois went to be with the Lord Jesus at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday (September 7, 2022) at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, after a hard-fought battle with liver disease. Mr. Garner was born January 22, 1971, in Springfield, Illinois, the youngest child of Kenneth Eugene and Helen Eileen (Morrison) Garner.
He married Jean Elizabeth Volle on April 20, 1991, in Mount Pulaski, and they were together for over 33 loving years. Surviving are his wife; daughter, Allorah Kathryn Garner of Chatham; sister Karen Donner of Springfield; brother Steven (Diane) Garner of Mesa, Arizona; and sister Cathy (Jim) Rader of Mackinaw, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Helen, and three brothers, Robert, Kenny, and Warren.
Kevin was gifted with technology and worked in Springfield as a network administrator for over 25 years. He was a member of Park Meadows Baptist Church and of a local car club in Springfield. He loved spending time with his family, eating pizza with Pepsi, finding companionship with a number of pets over the years, and car shows. He enjoyed driving his car(s), especially his prized Shelby Mustang named ‘Krystal,’ and he often drove her to Tennessee, his personal paradise.
He kept God in his heart first, his family second, and everything else third. Kevin was a man of few words, but those in his orbit were always shown love and compassion, especially through his sharing of his faith and family.
Cremation rites were accorded.
