Kenneth L. Stocker

Kenneth L. Stocker, 84, of New Philadelphia passed away in the Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover on December 11, 2020 following complications from COVID.

Born in Port Washington on November 5, 1936, he was the son of the late Leland B. and Mildred E. (Enos) Stocker.

After graduating from Port Washington High School in 1954, he served his country in the United States Army. Then, he began his professional career first as a welder with Babcok Wilcox and Buxbaum Co. He retired in 1997 from Alsco in Gnadenhutten where he served many years as an electrician.  His final job was working as a repairman for 13 years at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center.

Ken was a member of several local organizations including the Uhrichsville Eagles, the New Philadelphia VFW, the Newcomerstown American Legion, and the Moose Club in Uhrichsville. Ken also was very active with both the Tusco Amateur Radio Club and the Experimental Aircraft Association in New Philadelphia.

On May 26, 1973, Ken married the former Mary M. Police who survives. Additionally, he will be deeply missed by his children, Cynthia Stocker and Wesley Stocker, both of New Philadelphia; a family friend, Victor J. Rotondo; his step-daughters, Laurie (Alan) Grewell of New Philadelphia and Lynne Vinkovic of California; grandchildren, Ray (Erica) Wilson, Michelle (Harlen) Hirning, and Jesse (Harmony) Wilson; step-grandchildren, Grace and Ben Vinkovic; great-grandchildren, Raya and Evvie Wilson, Zoey Mulheman, Worth, Ryder, and Kahmaya Hirning, and Otto Kenneth Wilson; and his siblings, Verna Pedersen, Evelyn Triplett, Marion (Gene) Stocker, Frances (Bill) Byers, Janet (Dan) Pompey, and Myrna (John) Engledinger.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in passing by his first wife, Sandra J. (Weaver) Stocker; and his son, Chad Stocker.

Visitation will be held in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia, Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. with Father Jeff Coning officiating a graveside service at 11 a.m. The New Philadelphia VFW will render military honors at the cemetery.
