Kendra Lin Denman, a bright and free-spirited soul who touched the lives of many, passed away on May 10, 2024, in Cedar Rapids, IA, at the age of 48. She was born on December 18, 1975, in Cedar Rapids, IA, to her loving parents Van and Linda Denman.
Kendra’s journey through life was marked by a deep connection to nature and a passion for caring for the earth. She graduated from Jefferson High School and went on to achieve a degree in Arboriculture from Kirkwood Community College. Her dedication to her field was evident in her 8 years of work as a certified Arborist, where she shared her expertise and love for trees with those around her.
In her spare time, Kendra found solace in tending to her garden, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Kendra’s infectious spirit and unwavering commitment to the environment left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.
Kendra is survived by her father, Van Denman (83), her daughter Grace Myers (21), her son Lennon Roberts (14), her brother Chris Denman (53), and several other beloved family members. She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Denman.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 24 from 4 to 6 p.m. at St. Ludmila Community Center, 211 21st Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Arbor Day Foundation.
Kendra’s legacy of love for the earth and all its creatures will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty of the natural world she cherished so deeply.
