Keith R. Hollingsworth of Apache Junction, AZ passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024. There will be a celebration of life in Arizona at a time to be announced in the future.

Keith was born September 11, 1932 in Iowa City, IA. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids, IA in 1950. Keith was very proud of his service to his country as an Air Force veteran. He worked at Quaker Oats for 44 years starting as a pipefitter and working his way through the ranks to supervisor when he retired in 1994. He met Julie Knapp through their combined time at Quaker and they married in 1992. After they both retired they loved traveling the world and attending University of Iowa football games, both home and away. Keith’s favorite adventure was a three-month trip to Canada & Alaska via the beloved motorhome. Keith could always be found in the stands cheering on his grandkids, he was a consummate play-by-play announcer for all in the general vicinity.

Keith was also not afraid to try his hand at sports as well, playing softball, golfing, bowling, and hiking in Arizona well into the later years of his life.

Keith is survived by his wife of 32 years, Julie, children Debra Hollingsworth of Cedar Rapids, Scott (Julie) Hollingsworth of Apache Junction, AZ, stepson Darin (Nicky) Knapp of Chaska, MN, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and his sister Kathy Weber.

He was preceded in death by his son David Hollingsworth on April 11, 2024.
