Kathleen Sue Dolezal, 83, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa died Tuesday December 17, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital after an unexpected illness surrounded by her family.

Visitation is from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, December 27th at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. The burial will be at a later time at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, John III, Donnie, and a daughter, Julie (Chad) Pence; sister Delores Donnan and brother David (Sandi) Donnan.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kierstyn Dolezal, Lauren and Samuel Pape, Dylan Dolezal, and great-grandson Cassius Shaffer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and granddaughter, Marissa Dolezal.

Kathy was born on May 22, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Donald and Ornetta Donnan. She married the love of her life, John H. Dolezal, on July 29, 1961, in Cedar Rapids. Kathy started her banking career with MNB (Merchants National Bank) and was a wonderful personal banker helping several people throughout the years. She always enjoyed her job and everyone that she worked with.

She enjoyed shopping, decorating her home and her cats but most of all she LOVED spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was always there when you needed her and would drop anything to help others.

She had a great sense of humor, and her favorite moments were when her family was together. She was a wonderful mother, wife, friend and grandma who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
