Katherine “Katie” F. Pelley

Katherine “Katie” F. Pelley, 98 of Springfield, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt. Pulaski.  She was born on February 6, 1924 in Springfield, to Benjamin and Frances Strebel Dillard. She married the love of her life, Herman Pelley in 1947 and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1994.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Alice Kuhn; and nephew, Terry Kuhn.

Katie is survived by her siblings, Martina Jenot of Springfield and Benjamin Dillard of Edinburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Katie was a lifelong resident of Springfield and a graduate of Springfield High School.  She worked as an assembler at Sangamon Electric for 36 ½ years, then worked as a clerk at Horace Mann and the State of IL for several more years. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and watched any game that she could.

Private family services will be held with burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
