Karen L. Kosarek
- December 10, 2023
Karen L. Kosarek, age 60 of Virgil, IL passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 8, 2023 in her home. She was born on August 15, 1963 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Fricano) Aiello.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Karen was diagnosed with mixed connective tissue disease/scleroderma in 2004 and since then suffered a great deal of discomfort. Through it all, she was always the strongest person we knew. Despite Karen’s medical issues she always proceeded to help others no matter how ill she felt. She was the most loving and caring person. She would give anyone the shirt off her back if needed. Till this day she was determined to never lose faith, hope, and to live in every moment.
Karen loved spending time with her family, friends and her grandchildren as much as possible. It was her goal to live for the grandchildren. Karen spent a lot of her time around food, she loved cooking, which she did often with her parents and her siblings. Every gathering she had to be sure there was plenty of food which always included some type of “basta” dish. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, and playing games.
She was proud member of the Scleroderma Foundation.
Karen is survived by her children, Lawrence Lindquist of Chicago, IL, Jennifer (Tony) Jump of Plainfield, IL, Joseph Kosarek of Virgil, and Jacquelyn (Robert) Lechowicz of Yorkville, IL; her six grandchildren; her siblings, Stephen Aiello of DeKalb, IL and Kathleen (Glen) Morris of Bolingbrook, IL; along with nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eleanor Aiello; and her husband, David Kosarek.
