June Ellen Raley (Emerson), 72, of Fairfax, died peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2025, at St. John XXIII, located at 8100 Roncalli Dr. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404. A luncheon will follow at the church. Casual clothing is welcome. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre are assisting the family at this time.
June was born May 24, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Alexander) Emerson. She attended St. Ludmila Elementary school, and Jefferson High School. She married the love of her life, Robert Raley, on June 24, 1972, at St. Ludmila’s Parish. June was a dedicated wife and mother. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, and quilting. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.
June is survived by her husband Robert; children Melissa (Eric) Ewing, and Jakob (Angi) Raley; 7 grandchildren; and her sisters Monica Kuda and Dee (Al) Gorman.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Dorothy Emerson; brother Charles Emerson Jr; and brother-in-law Kim Kuda.
