Julie Godbey

Julie Godbey, 63, passed away at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.

The daughter of William Hammond and Martha (Emerson) Robertson, Julie was born on July 19, 1958 in Mansfield, Ohio. Julie worked many years as a waitress. She was a devoted grandmother who found her family to be very important in her life. Julie attended Crossroads Community Church. She loved music, playing Bingo and was a very patriotic lady. Julie gave in death as she always did in life, as her final act was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

She leaves behind her son, Michael Godbey; a daughter, Summer Stone; her grandchildren, Destiny Kurtz, Kaylee Stone and Aryan Conrad; her mother, her father; her nephew, Damian Hammond; her niece, Eva Haney; and numerous aunts and cousins. Julie was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Hammond; her step father, Walton Robertson; and several aunts and uncles.

Family and friends may visit from 4:00-6:00 pm on Monday, August 9, 2021 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. Pastor Ron Biddle will officiate the funeral service beginning promptly at 6:00 pm. Please make memorial contributions to Wounded Warrior Project.
