Julia Ann Hall, 87 of Springfield, died at 9:32 pm, Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born May 22, 1935 in Springfield, to John and Angeline (Faucon) Barlow. She married Albert Edward “Bert” Hall, Jr. on June 30, 1956, and he preceded her in death on January 9, 2015.

Also preceding her in death are her parents; one son, Mark Hall; one brother, John “Jack” Barlow; three sisters, Betty Green, Doris Snyder, and Mary Rose Robinson; and two sister-in-laws, Bonnie Ragan and Rita Barlow.

Survivors include three sons, Albert W. (Beverly) Hall, Sr., Larry (Kimberly) Hall, and Kevin Hall, all of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth “Liz” Hall of Decatur; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; one sister, Josie Butcher of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Julia was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. She retired from the State of Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services as a Case Service Coordinator after thirty-six years of service.

She enjoyed playing video machines, country music, shopping, and maintaining Bert’s Flowers.

Visitation: 9:30 – 11:30 am, Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Pastor Chuck Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
