Judith Marie Hazzard, 83, of Marion, Iowa, formerly of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Oakland Church of the Nazarene, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Michael Perkins will officiate. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Judith was born on February 11, 1941, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Lewis and Marie (Nickerson) Bury. She graduated from North High in Minneapolis and earned her associate’s degree from Pillsbury Bible College. On January 12, 1963, Judith was united in marriage to Dennis Henry Hazzard in Minneapolis. She worked as an office manager for Fox Eye Clinic for 20 years. Judith had a strong faith and was a member of the Oakland Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed antiques, sewing, and knitting, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family. Judith will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Judith is survived and lovingly remembered by her sons, Paul Hazzard and Jeff Hazzard, both of Marion; daughter, Karen (John) Gosnell of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandsons, Joe Gosnell of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Sam Gosnell of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis; sister, Patty Carven; and brother, Curtis Bury.
Memorials in Judith’s memory may be directed to Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
