Judith Lee Behrens, age 83 of Oswego, IL passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. She was born on July 6, 1940 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of Gilbert Arthur and Laura Helen (Forfar) Klenz.
Judith was united in marriage on February 12, 1966 to Mr. James Edwin Behrens and they spent the next 57 years happily together. Mrs. Behrens was a longtime and active member of Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL. She was formerly employed as a secretary for the Lutheran Bible Translation Company. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Judy is survived by her husband, James Behrens of Oswego, IL; her daughter, Joy Toma of Aurora, IL; her grandchildren, Kiersten Amport and Stephen (fiancé Ashley Glover) Toma; her great-grandchildren, Mikyla, Ellia and Bria Amport; her brother, Robert (Ione) Klenz of The Villages, FL; her sister, Carol (Richard) Butula of Germantown, WI; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Laura Klenz.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Cross Lutheran Church, 8609 Rt 47, Yorkville, IL with Pastor Matt Conrad officiating. Interment will follow in Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Yorkville, IL.
Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until the Hour of Service at Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL.
