Judith A. Nichols

Judith A. Nichols, age 82 of Newark, IL passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021, surrounded by her loving family, at her sons home in Somonauk, IL. She was born on September 1, 1938 in Peru, IL the daughter of Aloysius and Gertrude (Maurer) Ellerbrock.

Judith was united in marriage on April 27, 1957 to Mr. Harry V. Nichols in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Peru, IL and they spent the next 54 years happily together until his passing on March 3, 2012. Mrs. Nichols was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Oswego, IL. She enjoyed golfing and traveling with her family and friends. Judith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Judith is survived by her sons, Tim (Tina) Nichols of Sandwich, IL, Jeff (Kathy) Nichols of Somonauk, IL and Jim (Lisa) Nichols of Oswego, IL; her 14 grandchildren; her 13 great-grandchildren; her 1 great-great-grandson; also several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aloysius and Gertrude Ellerbrock; her husband, Harry Nichols; her son, William Nichols; her grandson, Dustin Nichols Sr., her great-grandsons, Dustin Jr. and Donovan Nichols; as well as her brother, Daniel Ellerbrock.

A Private Memorial Mass will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Oswego, IL. Interment will take place at a later date in the Millington-Newark Cemetery in Millington, IL.

Memorials in Judith’s name may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
