Joyce Walker

Joyce Elizabeth Walker went home to be with the Lord on November 19, 2023 at the age of 74.

Joyce Elizabeth Walker, daughter of Mary Smith and Lester Walker, was born on August 22, 1949 in Stony Hill, St. Andrew, Jamaica. She was the second born of four children and later went to school in Mannings Hill, Jamaica.

Joyce is survived by her 4 children. Theannie Greenwood (Clive), Casandra, Michael (Laura) and Roystan, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, her brother Steven, as well as other relatives and friends.

Joyce’s greatest role was being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a true friend to many who taught us all what is important in life. She taught us to love, support and care for the family and friends in our lives. This is where she found her strength and left her legacy for us.

In addition to being a loving mother, she found strength and refuge in the church. She held an unwavering love for God and dedicated herself to her faith. She was assigned many different roles in her church.

We are happy that she had a fulfilling life and not much of her life had been lost to illnesses. We know that she is at peace and that her struggles are at an end, for she no longer has any pain or sadness. She was very nurturing, always had an encouraging word, and was always willing to help and offer advice. She also had a very infectious laugh which caused many to burst out in laughter.

We all loved her dearly. May she rest in peace, knowing that we will always cherish our memories of her.
