Joyce Martin
Joyce Martin (DeVries) was born April 9th, 1940 in Gary, Indiana to the late Henry and Florence DeVries. She passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Lake Geneva Manor in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
Joyce, a lifetime resident of Williams Bay, Wisconsin graduated from Williams Bay Public School in 1957. She met her first husband Donald Martin in 1951, and they were married in February 1958. Together, they had six children, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Joyce’s husband Donald Martin lost his battle with cancer in January 1998. Years later Joyce met Donald Wubs. They were married for twenty years until he passed away May of 2021.
Joyce was an active member of Calvary Community Church in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. She served in youth ministry, and women’s ministries for years. Joyce’s passion was singing in the church choir. She established many life long friends at Calvary Community Church. Joyce was a faithful women who loved the Lord, her family, church and community.
Joyce is survived by children Lorri Martin, Daniel (Barb) Martin, Douglas (Karen) Martin, David (Pam) Martin, Lynn Talarek; brother Richard DeVries, and several other loving relatives and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Donald Martin, her son Steven Paul, Son-in-law Russ Talarek, brothers Henry and Garrit DeVries, sister Janette Moser, and husband Donald Wubs.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 4th, 2021, 11:00 am, at Calvary Community Church, N2620 Harris Road, Williams Bay, Wisconsin. Private family Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery, Delavan, Wisconsin.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joyce’s memory to Calvary Community Church/Clothing Outreach Center.
